Project ‘Bella Ciao’ is a project that arose as a result of the 2020 Covid pandemic. ‘Bella Ciao’ was created by Claudia ‚Coco‘ Baricz (www.claudia-coco.com) and Katharina Natascha, who both lost their circus contracts as a consequence of the sudden closure of the entertainment industry. Since the duration of this closure doesn’t have a near end in sight, project ‘Bella Ciao’ seemed like a sensible way to ensure job stability and income.
The concept of ‘Bella Ciao’ is to create a circus show, based on the Spanish TV-show ‘La Casa de Papel’ with the intention to come up with a way to continue supporting the circus arts and generate job opportunities. The greater scope of ‘Bella Ciao’ foresees the composition of a circus show that initially tours on a regional level, as well as being adapted to the covid-19 safety regulations. Furthermore, the hopes are to get a partial subsidization by the state, by means of cultural relevance and national contribution.
Currently, the project is relying on financial resources donated to its GoFundMe account, so that rehearsals for the summer seasons 2021 can continue. The artists are grateful for any contribution, which can be donated via the following link: gf.me/u/xzqx67
